Miriam Acosta-Castriz, Esq.

Daughter of Cuban immigrant parents, Mrs. Acosta-Castriz was born in Miami and raised in Hialeah, Florida. A first-generation attorney from a humble background, she received a bachelor’s degree in Arts from the University of Oklahoma with honors and earned her law degree from the Oklahoma City University School of Law. She started her career as an attorney for the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County and later successfully managed as a sole practitioner. For the past 18 years she has concentrated her practice exclusively to the field of Immigration and Nationality Law.

Throughout her distinguished career, she has demonstrated her commitment to being a leader in her profession, her community and numerous professional organizations. Some of her distinctions include serving as President of the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County (2014-2015), President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Palm Beach County (2006), Co-chair of the American Immigration Lawyer’s Association for South Florida Chapter (2010-2014) and Chair-Elect of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County (2015-2016). A dedicated member of the Hispanic business community, she was crucial in the creation of the first Hispanic focus group for the North Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce which analyzed the needs for business services in the Hispanic community. She has provided unending support and countless pro-bono hours to charitable organizations such as the Legal Aid Society of PBC, The Guatemalan Maya Center and Bridges of Palm Beach, among others. In addition, she serves our community by being a frequent lecturer at universities, high schools, non-profit organizations and the local sheriff’s department’s outreach programs. Thanks to her esteemed reputation and experience, she has been called upon to be an expert witness within the Immigration Law field.

In addition to managing a heavy caseload as a solo practitioner and volunteering in the above mentioned capacities, Mrs. Acosta-Castriz’ most valued accomplishment was raising three children who have all excelled academically. She is currently a partner at Acosta & Fraga Law, PLLC a full service boutique Immigration Law practice located in Lake Worth, Florida. At the same time, she also serves in a judicial capacity as a traffic hearing officer for Palm Beach County. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, skiing and traveling.
